Electrification Project



The funds collected so far ($2142 as of 8/30/00) have made it possible to go ahead with procurement of the direct burial wire and the service boxes at each end.



The project entails:



1. Surface clean up of an existing dirt pile on the burial route.

2. Dig ditch (DitchWitch?) some 641 ft long x 4" wide x 2 ft. deep on airport property from the PG&E transformer pole along an existing golf course boundary fence, along an existing FAA/NWS fence, across our existing lease property to the location of the site service box (close to/on the proposed hanger site)

3. Build and install support structure (service pole) for the incoming service and meter mount adjacent to the PG&E pole location

4. Mount service box/meter mount on structure

5. Build and install support structure for termination box

6. Mount termination box

7. Install service cable in ditch - Bob Foster to build a spool axle that will allow backhoe (fork lift) deployment from all three wire spools in one pass.

8. Connect cable to service boxes each end

9. Test electrical integrity of cable prior to backfill

10. Backfill ditch

11. Prepare and install "Caution - Buried Cable" notice signs along buried cable right-of-way.

12. Install meter (PG&E), Throw breakers, and test for power at our site.
Note: All of the above has been completed as of circa 1/14/01.



Note: The $3300 goal includes funds for the procurment and installation of conduit, junction boxes, receptacles and wiring internal to the Hut.

Hut Site Construction and Furnishings

A $2000 loan from Glen Lane has provided funds for go-ahead on the placement of hut pad.


Some of the "Hut" tasks which will use funding include:



1. Procure and place decomposed granite (DG) on building site and adjacent areas - DONE.

2. Water and compact DG on site (rental roller/vibrator) - DONE

3. Get Hut Front Rollup door repaired at local Vinyl Repair place. - DONE

4. Procure form lumber, additional anchors, and re-bar. - DONE

5. Trench DG for pad forms, place forms and anchors, place re-bar - DONE

6. Procure concrete and schedule with concrete finisher - DONE

7. Place concrete and finish. - DONE

8. Erect Hut building. -DONE

9. Procure electical. Install electrical - conduit, lights, outlets, fuse boxes - DONE

10. Procure a/c ducts, et al. Install air conditioning ducts - DEFERRED

11. Procure east and west side man doors - DONE

12. Install man doors. - DONE
